The UFC returns to the Sunshine State this weekend with a pretty exciting fight card for UFC Jacksonville, headlined by a featherweight matchup between Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria. This will be the fifth UFC Fight Night event that will have the main card broadcast on ABC (the prelims will air on ESPN). Below are some of my favorite prop bets for tomorrow’s card:
Trevor Peek by KO/TKO (+135)
Peek is 8-0 with a 100% knockout rate in his wins and he will be facing 13-6-1 Chepe Mariscal this weekend. Mariscal is taking this fight on roughly ten days notice as a replacement and will be moving up from his usual weight class to lightweight for this matchup. Peek is a striker who throws everything with power and puts up solid volume in the process, landing 8.3 significant strikes per minute. While Mariscal might have some future success in the promotion, this is a rough spot to debut on short notice for a fighter who has suffered three of their six losses via KO/TKO. I expect Peek to add another one sometime in the first two rounds of this fight.
Neil Magny by Points (+105)
Magny is 27-10 in his career with eleven wins via stoppage and he will be facing 10-3 Phil Rowe on tomorrow’s card. Rowe has a 100% stoppage rate in his wins and he’s gone 3-1 thus far in the UFC. While Rowe has been able to find stoppages in all of his wins, he is 0-2 in fights that have gone the distance and a couple of his recent wins have come thanks in part to his opponents gassing out late. That won’t be an issue here for Magny, who is 16-2 in his career when going to the judges’ scorecards. Magny will be the more well-rounded fighter in this matchup and should be able to be able to comfortably get this one done via decision.
Brendan Allen by Submission (+185)
Allen is 21-5 with 17 of his wins coming by stoppage and 12 of those via submission. He’ll be taking on 23-8 Bruno Silva in this middleweight matchup. Silva is a power striker with an impressive 20 wins coming via KO/TKO. While Silva is always dangerous on the feet, Allen should be able hold his own in the striking exchanges and he will be much more active looking to get this fight to the ground. While Silva has the impressive knockout rate in his wins, he has an equally alarming rate of being submitted, with six of his eight losses via that method. Allen should be able to weather the early danger on the feet and get this one done rather quickly once the fight eventually goes to the ground.
