Day 3 was about ceilings.
Quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs took over Lucas Oil Stadium and several prospects may have changed their draft trajectory in a single afternoon.
Today we only report on winners!
Winner: Jeff Caldwell, WR, Cincinnati
Jeff Caldwell may have gotten himself a bag after his combine performance.
Testing
- 4.31 40 yard dash
- 1.48 10 yard split
- 42 inch vertical
- 11 foot 2 inch broad jump
He posted a 99 athleticism score and a perfect RAS. For a receiver his size, that combination is rare.
Projected as a late round pick entering the week, Caldwell now looks like a legitimate Day 3 target with real developmental upside.
Winner: Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas
Mike Washington Jr. may have helped himself more than anyone in this class.
The former two star recruit posted an unofficial 10.00 RAS, ranking first out of more than 2,100 running backs tested since 1987.
Testing
- 4.33 40 yard dash
- 1.51 10 yard split
- 39 inch vertical
- 10 foot 8 inch broad jump
His athleticism score came in at 92, and he ran the fastest 40 among running backs in Indianapolis.
Washington has gone from afterthought to legitimate mid round target.
Winner: Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
Jeremiyah Love entered the combine as the top running back on most boards. He left with that standing intact.
Love ran a 4.36 40 yard dash, second fastest among running backs. He did not jump, but looked smooth in drills and explosive in space.
After a 1,372 yard, 18 touchdown regular season, Love already carried first round buzz. With these physicals, top five is not out of the question.
Winner: Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas
Taylen Green delivered a combine performance for the ages.
Testing
- 4.36 40 yard dash
- 1.55 10 yard split
- 43.5 inch vertical
- 11 foot 2 inch broad jump
His 97 athleticism score reflects just how absurd those numbers are.
Green broke quarterback records in the vertical and broad jump and posted the second fastest 40 ever by a quarterback, trailing only Michael Vick.
His throwing session was not perfect, but the metrics alone forced teams to rethink his ceiling.
Other Notable Quarterbacks
Drew Allar, Ty Simpson, and Carson Beck all had solid, steady throwing sessions. Their clean performances keep them firmly in the mix for teams will to take a shot on a QB.
What to Expect on Day 4
Day 4 belongs to the offensive linemen. Workouts begin at 1 p.m. ET
